Announcements
1. Winter Retreat 2012! Our annual Winter Retreat is a weekend event open to students in Junior High, High School and College. It will take place at Camp Pyoca, Brownstown, on February 17-19. Cost $100 per student, it includes accommodations, meals, T-shirt and camp materials. Sign-ups and registration fees due Sunday, February 5. 2. Sports: Do you have any gently used sports equipment you don’t use? During February Children’s Ministry will be collecting new & gently used equipment for Indiana Sports Corporation (they assist underserved kids). Drop your donation in the blue bin in the lobby.
3. Mission trip opportunities for 2012-Planning is underway for potential trips that may include a trip to New Orleans (late April or early May), and to Peru (June or early July). The missions team would like to hear from you if there is an interest. The level of interest expressed will determine whether to move ahead. 4. Valentine Care Packages: The Deacons will be putting together care packages for college and military loved ones this coming week. You can still bring your donations of cookies/treats or small gifts Sunday and Monday (drop them off in the kitchen).
5. Children’s Ministry is collecting egg cartons for an upcoming Lent activity. Please drop off cartons in the bin outside the Children’s Ministry office.
6. Attention Moms! Do you worry about your children? Come experience God’s peace and hope when you pray alongside other moms. Moms in Prayer Intl. (formerly Moms In Touch) will meet Thursday, Feb. 9 at 9:15 in the back of Fellowship Hall (and every Thursday there after). MomsInPrayer is an interdenominational, nonprofit ministry of groups that meet to pray for children and schools in every state and 130+ countries. 7. Women’s Christian Fellowship will hold their board meeting February 8 in the Library at 10:00 a.m. Please plan to attend.
8. Klopp Home Group invite families with small children to join their home group. This group meets on the 2nd Sunday of the month during Awana at 4:00 p.m. at the church. Call Heather Hayden at 889-4379 or Katie Klopp at 881-2169 with questions.
9. The Refuge has lost a few regular volunteers to winter vacations. They have an urgent need for voluneteers in the following areas:
