Center Grove Fine Arts Academy (CGFAA) is an extension of the Worship Ministry of Center Grove Church.  As part of the ministry of CGC, the Fine Arts Academy operates within the vision/mission statement of the church:

Where Strangers Become Friends,
Friends Become Disciples, and
Disciples Change the World.

Our hope here at CGFAA is that students and families will build the relationship not only with each other and us, but also with Christ throughout the programs offered here at CGC.  The Fine Arts Academy is a work in progress, just as we all are.  We have experienced great growth through Christ in the past year.  We began this ministry with just 30 students participating in our first production, Godspell Jr.  In our most recent production, Music Man Jr., we had 100 students participating in the show.  We are intentional in building relationships with the students, as well as the parents.  Our goal is that through the process of a show, or future classes and camps, students and families alike will begin to see Christ at work in the lives of those around them here at CGC.  We’d love to see students and families become friends with us here at CGC, but most importantly to become better disciples and grow in their faith, serving in a church that best fits them.  By building relationships and becoming friends which then become disciples, we hope to build up disciples who will change the world.

CGFAA is an educational theater arts ministry.  What does that mean?  Simply put, we value students and want to see them grow.  We don’t want a student to come into an audition and feel the fear of being cut from a show.  This means we don’t cut students from the show.  Everyone who auditions will be included in the show in some capacity.

Participating in CGFAA is as cost effective as we can make it because we don’t want to ‘break the bank’ for a family who wants to offer a quality opportunity to their child, so we do so for just $100 per student for a show.  We also have begun offering a summer camp, that will be just $75 for the week.  The summer camp has a limited number of openings available, so this opportunity is a first come/first serve sign up process.

Coming to see a show?  We’d love to have you join us.  Shows are affordable for a family, but that doesn’t mean they are lower quality.  In fact, we put lots of work into making the show as high quality professional theater as possible.  Here’s what some folks have said about our recent shows:

“We came expecting a cute church production.  We were blown away by the professionalism and quality of the show.  You could charge WAY more for these tickets and they’d still be worth every penny.”

– Music Man Jr Audience Member

“We loved the show! You don’t feel like you’re watching kids, they are so professional!  WOW!!”

– Music Man Jr Audience Member

“The talent level exceeds the expectation level of ANY theater program I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to several professional shows.”

-Music Man Jr Audience Member

Looking for ways to get your child involved?  Purchase tickets to one of our current productions to see what we do if it’s between auditions.  Watch our website for audition information.  In the Spring of 2017 we will be doing “Disney’s Beauty And The Beast The Musial” and “School House Rock Live Jr” with auditions in early January and February.  Anyone ages 9-18 are eligible to participate in the shows.  Students must turn 9 by the last performance of the show and be 18 when auditions occur to be eligible. (Current students who are 8, or siblings of current students, will be grandfathered into the program at age 8.)

Scholarships are available for those who cannot afford our programs.  Please contact Mark Landis for more information.
