One of the most important decisions of life is marriage.

We want you to experience joy and fulfillment as you start and continue on your journey together.

Marriage is a lifelong covenantal commitment to celebrate the good times and endure and support one another during the hard times.

It’s easy to say in the marriage vows, but far more difficult to live out unprepared. Too frequently, couples have little awareness of what to expect or training on how to successfully navigate it.

This is why Center Grove Church offers premarital coaching.

In a culture where marriages fracture far too frequently, we are passionate about equipping couples with tools and strategies for a healthy and mutually supporting marital relationship.

  • Pastor Art and his wife, Christy, have celebrated 35 years of being married. He is a trained and experienced premarital counselor, and Christy is a registered nurse. Together, they are the proud parents of three adult daughters, two of whom are married.

  • Our premarital counseling begins with a personalized online assessment consisting of 165 questions created by Prepare & Enrich, a recognized research foundation that helps couples prepare for married life. Topics that are explored include family and friend history, relationship roles, communication methods, conflict resolution, partner styles and habits, financial management, sexual expectations, and spiritual beliefs.

Art and Christy then meet with the couple over several 90-minute sessions leading up to the wedding to explore individual and combined strengths and growing edges in the relationship. The number of meetings is dependent on the unique dynamics of each couple, but it is typically five to eight sessions. The goal is always to have couples strengthen and enrich their relationship.

  • The cost of the assessment is $35. Coaching is free of charge. A marriage that begins well-equipped for the journey is priceless.

“Center Grove Church had me feeling like a princess the whole time of my wedding planning and during my big day! They had everything planned so well so that I could come in the day before, decorate, and then have a perfect rehearsal. I can’t tell you how much I loved this venue! After decorating the lobby and the sanctuary, it looked like an absolute fairy tale. Not to mention that the venue’s price was VERY AFFORDABLE! Amy and Laura were amazing too—the best wedding planner/coordinator team. I can’t say thank you enough!”
